  	Both Thomas and Mary came to the U.S. around 1881, according to the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census, but it is not known if they came together. They married in the states. At least from 1890 to 1896, this family lived in St. Pius V parish at 1909 S. Ashland, in Chicago. According to the census, in 1900, they lived at 695 South Fairfield. There seems to be some error as the 1910 census lists them living at 1310 S. Kedzie, but the 1920 census lists them at 1301 S. Kedzie. Since neither William or John are listed in the 1900 census, they probably died as young children. Both 1900 and 1910 census lists Thomas J. (Sr) a machine shop helper. He is listed as a laborer in 1920. In 1910, Loretta worked as a clerk at a Retail Merchandise. In 1920, Thomas J (Jr) worked for the Post Office, and Margaret and Lillian worked as clerks in a Mail Order House.
