  	On Evald and Borghild's son, Erland, birth certificate in 1919, the family is listed as living at 1312 21st Street, Superior, Douglas County, WI., and Evald working as a machinist. Sometime before the boys were in high school, the family moved backed to Duluth. About 1939, they moved to 2615 Columbus Avenue, in Minneapolis, MN.. Evald was 73 years, 10 months, and 10 days when he died of stroke and heart attacks that had occurred for three days. The wake was held at Thompson Brothers Funeral Home, almost across the street from his house. Rev. Paul V. Goodwin from Temple Baptist Church officiated.

  Evald was the first of six brothers to come to the U.S. when he was 20 years old, leaving by way of G?teborg on 13 Oct, 1909, (four years after his mother had died) and settling first in Duluth. He was naturalized as a citizen of the U.S. on 5 March, 1915, at age of 25. At that time, he lived at 4124 Luverne in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota.
