  	Helen was probably 17 when she married Walter Johnson (no relation to the Wallace Johnson that her older sister Margaret married). They divorced about 1938 when Bruce was about 7. Helen then married Finley Stage, a Chicago steel worker. Finley had been raised by an aunt and uncle who left him a lot of money. However, Finley was very cruel, and even tried to burn down Helen's house. Soon after this, Helen became very sick, mentally. She died of some condition effecting her mind, and had some sort of seizure while in Tinley State Mental Hospital, about 1957.
