from Deposition for Roger Connaughton, July 18, 1902:
Roger Connaughton was her half-brother. She came to America before he did, but he moved west first. After the War, he stayed with her ba time in Genoa before going to Wisconsin. Right after the war he went to Belvidere, and she visited him there because he couldn?t travel.
Catherine was not able to write her name, and Mary was her witness.
Deposition was in Genoa, De Kalb, Illinois.
