Aug 15 1851 [Died] On Saturday morning last, David Moore, a protestant and an aged man engaged as a labourer and bailiff on Colonel Pratt's estate, having been employed by the agent, James Johnston, of Woodlands, was brutally attacked by persons unknown, while on his way to work in Corrovady Lodge. He expired a few hours later at the Lodge. He leaves a widowed mother of 98 years and a sister to deplore his loss. All the horrendous details of the attack were made known at the inquest on Monday last, the attackers have yet to be identified and apprehended (Londonderry Sentinel)
