Comments: I'm descended from Eatons and Frames in Castletown and Moness, near St Johnston. Can anyone explain what the asterisk means in some entries in the birth column for Taughboyne?

Comments: Hello, I am trying to source information on my Great Great Grandmother, Sarah Mcfarlane. Sarah and Michael Lane (her husband?? Cant find any marriage certificate) had 6 children in 1840's and 1850's. I have managed to find a Sarah Mcfarlane on a list of assisted immigrants that arrived in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia, on the ship "Neptune", on 29 Mar 1841. Sarah was listed as 18yrs old, indicating a birth year of 1823 and being from Cappagh. I would be grateful if anyone can assist with further information
Thanks Peter Lane

Comments: Hello, great website. I'm looking for birth records for Alexander McCamish approx date 1810. He married Isabella Davison/Davidson in Ballyclog 1834 and had 7 sons, Adam, Robert, James, John, Maxwell and Joseph. He died in Ballyclog in 1875. His son John came to Australia in 1866. I would appreciate some help in locating birth and marriage records for Alexander.
I have found him on the Griffiths valuation, and have his death certificate but the rest is a mystery.
There are some who believe he is from the American McCamish line from the book McCamish, Three Brothers in Colonial America by Linda M Merle. I'm not sure.
Kind regards
Jennifer Smith

Comments: I am a descendant of folks from Raphoe Parish, County Donegal, Henry Allen and Barbara Stevenson. I plan to visit Donegal in September with my family and I am trying to determine where exactly my great-great parents lived. I have some church records for Henry Allen (born approx. 1814) that record his first marriage - April 16, 1838 to Barbara Stevenson, by the Rev. John P. Dickey at the Carnone, Presbyterain Church. Their 4 children were baptized there also - from 1840 - 1846. (William, Henry James, Susan and Sarah). Apparently Barbara died and in November 1850 Henry married Catherine Flood - same church/parish location. They then left for the United States.
Is that Parish church still active? I would like to be able to find it. The changing of names of locations since that time - early-mid 1800s- is proving confusing for me, at least in finding what the current place names are. If you could point me to some local resource/person, I should be glad of the help. Many Thanks!

Comments: Searching for town or parish where Joseph Liget/Liggit/Ligget had farm between 1790-1818. He emigrated to USA in 1818-1819 with son William (born 1801). Before 1830 his wife Jane and daughters Jane, Mary, and Elizabeth also emigrated to USA. Looking also for possible older sons of Joseph who may have stayed on farm in county Tyrone.

Comments: Searching for my father's mother's relatives. Just discovered they are from County Tyrone. Last names of Carson (I know, like Smith in USA) and Cummings. I know they immigrated to Canada, Nova Scotia, but want to see how far back in the Emerald Isle they were ensconsed.
