SPROULE
The Sproule lineage goes back to about the 1650, when we find them in Renfrewshire, Scotland. From here one branch of the family migrated to Tyrone in Northern Ireland. This branch of the family came to Canada about 1830 and settled first in Tecumseth Township [Simcoe Co. Ontario, Canada].
Two brothers Robert and William settled on the 8th Concession of this township, later coming to Innisfil, where they settled at Tyrone (5th Line) and still later moving to the farm on 4th Line west of Churchill between 4th and 5th Concessions where they lived till about 1894.
The settling of the Sproule and Lennox families as neighbours here, both coming from Northern Ireland, resulted in the marriage in that generation of Robert William and Thomas Sproule to Jane Margaret and Mary Lennox and Margaret Sproule to John Lennox.
The many descendants of these marriages are widely scattered throughout Canada.
