Termonamongan = O’Mongan’s termon or Church land; anciently known as Kylchyril. (Patrick O’Mongan was herenach of Kylchyril in 1481)
Date Historical Note 1622 Church described as in a ruinous state 1661 Arthur Newbary and Hugh Walker, Churchwardens 1686 Thomas Way was Parish Clerk; William Prophet of Killeter and Neale McCaffrey of Aghavaran, Churchwardens 1693 John Tilladams was Parish Clerk, George Ryly and Archibald Rolston, Churchwardens 1718 Hugh Kilpatrick was Parish Clerk and schoolmaster, Stephen Heard and Nathaniel Clark, Churchwardens 1719 William Fitzpatrick and Hugh Fitzpatrick were Churchwardens 1768 Church in good repair, the Rector, Adam Harvey, is generally resident 1822 New Church erected and dedicated to St. Bestius 1861 1,108 Church people and 936 Protestant Dissenters (Presbyterians).
