Apr 14 1854 DICKEY. On the 31st ult., in his 88th year, John Dickey, Esq., of Cullybackey. His ancestors were from Ayrshire, John Dicke or Dickie, married a daughter of Hyndman of Myroe, county Derry, a sister of Captain Hyndman, officer of the guard, who fired the first shot on the Earl of Antrim’s Regiment, December 1688, on the closing of the gates of Derry. This John Dickie, was considered too old to fight at the seige, but his house at Ballymulley, near the Roe Water, was burned by the retreating army of James
